Breiðamerkursandur is a plain formed of glacial sediments deposited by meltwater outwash at the terminus of a glacier. The glaciers that formed the sandur are a part of Vatnajökull. Each day new ice sculptures are washed up on the black volcanic sand of Breiðamerkursandur. Iceland Expedition - October 2015
